Understanding the location and operation of your lithium-ion batteries for RV is the first step in battery management. In your Grech RV, you’ll find the lithium battery remote switches under the ottoman on the passenger side, behind the galley cabinet, and below the access panel. These switches, which may vary in number depending on your model, control the activation and deactivation of your batteries. A blue light ring around a switch indicates that the battery is active; if the light is off, the battery is either in storage mode or shut down due to low voltage or cold temperatures. To reactivate a battery, simply push and release the button, ensuring that the vehicle is either running to use the alternator or connected to power so the inverter can charge the batteries.
Properly setting your shore power is crucial for the safety and efficiency of your Grech RV’s electrical system. On units built from January 2023 onwards, the shore power settings can be adjusted via the Firefly system. It’s important to select the correct amperage (15, 20, or 30 amps) to match your external power source to prevent circuit overload. When connected, the system should indicate various stages of battery charging: bulk, absorption, and float, helping you understand the charging process and manage it effectively. We invite you to check out this video on How to set the shore power settings on lithium-ion unit 2023 and newer.
Knowing how to revive your RV lithium-ion batteries is crucial if they stop charging. First, ensure the battery switches are turned on. If the batteries are not accepting a charge, connect your RV to shore power to initiate charging from the inverter. The system will display charging stages on the Firefly interface, ensuring that your batteries receive the necessary power to return to full functionality.
The stages displayed are:
